tournament! We hope this will make our tournament more competitive and
safe for all participants. We are still accepting bids to this
tournament and are working hard at finding affordable/potentially free
housing for all teams.
FUEL, the University of Florida's women's ultimate frisbee team, is
proud to announce the Florida Winter Classic, a college tournament,
January 23rd and 24th, 2010. This will be an excellent tune-up for the
college spring season, getting everyone back into the swing of things
after winter break, and out of the cold. Remember, where you are it
might be 30 degrees at noon, but in Gainesville it is about 70
degrees!
What: Florida Winter Classic
Who: 12-16 women's college teams (we have sufficient field space for
up to 20 teams)
Where: University of Florida (it's in Gainesville, Florida, but the
Gator Nation is everywhere)
When: January 23rd-24th, 2010
Cost: $225 per team
We will be providing all the standard tournament amenities (bagels,
abundant water, bananas, oranges, etc.), a tournament party Saturday
night, and a fantastic, Saturday-afternoon "friendly competition." We
may also be able to put up a team or two (first come, first served) in
players' houses.
For those teams looking ahead to the Spring season, consider FWC as a
great tournament, in great weather, that is a ton of fun. If you have
