Due to fields getting torn up, play was ended for the day after round
two. I think they plan to reevaluate for Sunday.

I sure hope there was flooding:

Q: What happens if it rains?
A: The complex has had us put down a hefty retainer for the fieldsite
so that if it does rain, we will still be able to play. Our contract
states that in case of flooding or near flooding situations, the owner
reserves the right to close the fields.

Reports I got from the field site said some of the games were being
played "in ankle deep water" towards the end of the day.

yeah there were plenty of fields underwater, but about half were still
playable yesterday. Those fields would probably be pretty unplayable
today since it rained more overnight though.

I hope Cultimate keeps in mind that other members of the Ultimate
community use those fields for tournaments such as Chesapeake

I'd like to know if there's any hope of teams getting a partial
refund. I know Cultimate can't be blamed for the rain, but if the
field owners wouldn't let us play on Sunday, did Cultimate get some
sort of refund? If so, it seems like that should be passed on to the
teams.

When they called me I asked about that. They said they would be
sending an email out soon with information about refunds.

They certainly do, in fact, it was a point of emphasis during the
captains meeting. they also evaluated fields as the day went on and
closed them as they became unplayable.
