Waugh is a unique name. But we have the Lee brothers in Cricket and
the Smith brothers in Rugby League.

Yourav could be Robin's son or nephew.

Kindest Regards,
Matthew.

I hope he becomes a combination of the strokeplay of Saurav and fielding,
attitude and heart of Robin and not other way round. :-) For brains, he can
look somewhere else.

Well, not exactly. All Sikh men, as I understand it, have a middle name
of Singh (meaning 'lion') and all Sikh women have a middle name of Kaur
(which might mean lioness or might not, I can't remember).

If that's incorrect, no doubt someone will correct me, and I'll have to
tell the Sikh who sits opposite me at work off for telling me lies.

Cheers,

Mike

Will the same lengths of time have to pass before these things recur?

Similar?

One, is tall, wiry, young and talented.
The other is short, stout, old and untalented.

One represents the future of Indian cricket.
The other, with any luck, is well on his way out of Indian cricket.

Similar?

Apart from their surnames, they're about as similar as chalk
and cheese, ole chap.

Harish.

He is the son of Yograj Singh, fast bowler who played one test - v NZ at
Wellington 1980/81.

The original question, by the way, probably ranks as the most stupid
ever seen on this group (my opinion).

Out of interest, does anyone have any idea how many million Singhs there
might be in India (this is asked in good faith, not trying to be silly).

Yuvraj singh is Son of Yograj Singh Bhadana, of Bhadana village in Punjab.

Yograj Singh is settled at Chandigarh, about 120 KMs North West of Delhi,
Chandigarh also produced Kapil Dev and Chetan Sharma., (Patiala that is
about 70 KMs south of Chandigarh produced Navjot Singh Sidhu).

Yograj Singh owns couple of Gas stations in Chandigarh and also works as
a villain in Punjabi movies.

Singh means "lion" in Hindi. When Guru Gobind Singh created Sikhs he ordered
all his disciples to use Singh as their last names so as to remove any stigma
to the castes. (Sikhism is against Caste System).

Kaur means "princess".

In my opinion, I thought the question was a good one. I know there are a lot
of Singh's in India, but how do you get answers by sitting on your ass
staring at the wall? The guy had a question and he wanted to find out. He
asked it in this forum, and got a straight answer from a lot of helpful
people. You also answered the question, but had to throw a cheap shot in.
Good one, mate.

So, if someone in a rugby league group asked if Jason and Darren Smith were
any relation, would you also laugh??

I thought Robin and Yuvraj share many similar attributes. They are both very
good fielders, they both are aggressive middle order batsmen and both bowl a
bit. They are both light-skinned Indians and share the same name. Now I
would not ask the same question about Harbajan Singh and one of the two
aforementioned players because i cannot see many similarities.

How about if someone from India asked if Brett and Shane Lee were any
relation??

In my opinion, i don't think the question was stupid at all, but we are all
entitled to our opinions.
