JZ hates both Australia and India. For him to be happy would have
required both teams to lose. Since this is not possible he was willing
to settle for a tie i.e. neither team won! ;-)

I'm a huge fan of Indian cricket. I just hate the "waaaa, India"
loonies who strive to ruin this community.

Not sure. I just do. It could stem from the fact that my family has
strong, historical ties with India (I'm not Indian at all, but many of
my parent's close friends are). It could stem from the fact that I
enjoy the way they bat in the subcontinent. I've always enjoyed the
batting side of cricket more, and take pleasure from studying
different techniques.

Am I a fan of ALL of the Indian team, past and present? No way. But I
see a difference between "Indian cricket" and "the current Indian
team". Players come and go. Having said that, the only 2 real twats of
recent time are Ganguly and Harby (I dislike Yuvraj, but I'm not sure
why).

Why Ganguly? He had the spine to take criticism the right way, come
back and let his bat do the talking. Not a cowardly wimp like Kim
Hughes who disappeared in tears.

That's all I need to know Fredericks. You're a poncy batting groupie and
henceforth a poster who'se opinion is to be taken lightly. Batsmen. Bah!

Except when he ran away.

Clue: Why do you think that no-one has been censured more by the ICC than
Gangs?

It's a batsmen's game mate :)

Try bowling for 4 hours straight and you'll agree!

No offences in his post-captain stint. He was being Merv Hughes before
that.

yeah as opposed to west indians who have forgotten how to hold the bat
too...just have to watch runako morton to figure that out...first come
at least in the top 5 and then start commenting on the toppers...

Agreed. I've never had an issue with Ganguly. He got stuck in a bit of
a downer but came back well later in his career.

You don't have to do that to know that truth.

btw, I actually know a thing or two about long spells. Once bowled 47
straight in a Sat/Sun semi. 40+ on Sat and a couple on Sunday after our ace
quick broke down at 11:30. Felt fine on the Sunday morning. Loosened up
easily in the nets. Went to bowl the first ball of the second day and
everything was working well until the delivery arm got to shoulder high. It
didn't get it any higher than that. Umpires shouldn't stand close to the
stumps.

What kind of captain is that who asks a single bowler to bowl half the
number of overs for a
day? Is this kind of street cricket played in Aus?

Surely, you must be a pie chucker to bowl 40 overs straight!!!

You've got to remember that back then they were 4 ball overs.

It was a semi that we only had to draw so the side was stacked with
batters. Being the insecure little things that they are. So we only had
four bowlers in the XI and, unusually, there wasn't anybody else who could
consisently hit the cut bit. So when our ace quick broke down at 11:30 on
day 1 I trundled away on the 'draw prepared' pitch for the next 47 from one
end. Loved every minute of it.

> And how was your arm and back after a couple of days...lol?

Fine. Beer has magical qualities in the cricket season.
