Amir Sohail is fast becoming a national embarrassment for us. His
totally unbecoming remarks about Kirsten's injury, his silly comments
about umpiring and unnecessary bickering with fellow commentators
should be taken notice of. He is a real cry-baby, lacks basic manners.
What is he doing in a commentator's box?

Right, what did Aamir Sohail say about Kirsten ?

By the way, I say first get him out of the selection committee. I'd
much rather have him be a cry-baby in commentator's box, than to see
him playing with future of Pakistan's cricket.

I did not hear any comments about Kirsten's injury....probably had
stepped away from TV when it was said

Kinda like Ramiz Raja. Anyone remember the crap he said about Tendulkar when
he had cramps against the pakis in the WC?

"Oh it would be better if he gets injured, that would give Pakistan a better
chance"

Seems like alot of the selection committee is out of sync.

During world cup match against when Tendulkar (on one leg) was
dispatching our bowlsers to all parts, Aamir Sohail suggested that
Shoaib should aim at Tendulkar's tigh to take him out.
Yesterday, after Kisrten's face was covered in blood, he said Pakistan
stragety should now be to get South Africa out as soon as possible so
that Kisraten does not get time to recover and come out to bat. His
fellow commentator Hayse immediately corrected him and said:" The
protocol now should be to hope that Kisrten recovers quickly."
After that Aamir Sohail ran bersek about umpiring decisions against
South Africa in combatative tone (which was totally unnecessary). It
was consistently bad umpiring (people given out when they were not and
not out when they were). But in the end, Sohal was out of control, and
he and Hayse agreed to let viewers decide 'who is talking sense or
not' through sending an eamil to PAK...@TAJTV.COM. I'm sure everyone
must have lambasted Sohail but results were not again shown on
Television.
After that I've not seen Hayse and Sohail doing commentary together.
Moreover, Sohail provides no real insight to commentary and is always
talking. For a television commentator, you've to let people watch and
enjoy for themselves.

I disagree on personal recollection that Sohail does not provide real
insight. May be he didnt in this Test but as I wrote elsewhere he was
pretty good earlier.

I still dont see how it is bad that Sohail should think about getting
SA out as early as possible and adding that Kirsten wont be coming
back to bat. I have absolutely no problem with that, it is a natural
feeling, did he say that he hopes it isa career threatening injury or
something like that.

I have no probs with that. Maybe they shud separate these two guys
from doing commentary together.

A commentator can not be overly biased. Here is an article I found on
CricInfo, titled 'Aamer Sohail must give up selection or TV - or both'

Throughout the world they r like that, Channel 9 for that matter
bakes ,takes n eats the cake.

Now I realise why as around the word the ex players have started
getting into commentating and they r quite unable to shed their
'loyalty', and esp a guy new into this commentating, finds it more so.
And infact that guy is almost taken to be presenting what say in this
case Pakistan should do, sort of an expert commentary ie, the othe
comms quiz him on that. I have seen it happning in studios all over.
So that aspect is nothing new or neither alarming. he will settle in
as he goes along

In Sohail' case it seems more a conflict of a interest bet Selecotrial
and commentating job.
It will be nice if he quits one of them,

But again, I repeat I didnt find anyting wrong with his statements
cogitating on how the pakistan shud try to take the SA wickets quickly
as now Kirsten cannot bat again in this match is not act of
uncivilized behaviour to me but then if I was on air, I would have
thought along similar lines.' 'I hope Kirsten is well and gets well
soon n all that and esp if it is not real serious n bad injury (here
Kirsten even though it was bleeding was supposed to have walked off
the field by himself, conscious) then would have switched immediatley
to possibilities' in the match itself' So I guess I wud say that it
is not uncivlized since I wud have done it myself!

Maybe he needs to quit one of the jobs.
