"RCB managers were surprised when 38-year-old Sunil Joshi, a local player,
was signed for $30,000 since he is not even part of the Karnataka team. The
obvious reason was that "he is a very good friend of Dravid", confirmed an
RCB official.

A few Indian players like Sunil Joshi, Amol Muzumdar, Kanwaljit Singh
did yeoman service to their respective state cricket associations but
never really got compensated adequately compared to the filthy
amount of money the current players are making.

I would not grudge Dravid if he decided to financially help out players
like Sunil Joshi.

$30,000 is peanuts for Mallya or RCB but might mean a lot for
those players.

$30k ***is*** peanuts. The gift isn't the cash, it's the exposure.
Exposure leads to 'brand recognition', which in turn leads to the real
$$$... sponsorship.

Sunil Joshi is a 37-38 yr old man. No company is going to offer
him an endorsement contract.

Why do you get into arguments when you have no clue about Indian
cricket ?

Mallya loots millions of Indians in many ways.

Don't you need the same $s to maintain your hot wife/husband ?
