Interesting stuff.

The real surprise is that it doesn't include an entry for the
seemingly thousands of times that Gooch lbw Alderman occurred.

Interesting. Many of these instances can be attributed to longevity or
overlapping careers but others are less obvious...

> Bedser, Alec Victor Engl Morris, Arthur Robert 18

How many times did Bedser actually bowl to Morris? His strike rate must have
been teriffic against him. Morris might have averaged a lot more had it not
been for Bedser. IIRC Morris has a test average near 60 anyway.

> Lawson, Geoffrey Francis Aust Gower, David Ivon 15

I don't recall Henry ever really having the wood on Gower but 15 dismissals is
good going against a quality batsman.

> Underwood, Derek Leslie Engl Chappell, Gregory Stephen 13

> Underwood, Derek Leslie Engl Chappell, Ian Michael 10

The Chappell brothers can't have enjoyed Underwood's left arm orhodox too
much.

> Rowan, Athol Matthew Burchell Sout Hutton, Leonard 11

Not a bad scalp for Rowan who can't have taken more than 100 wickets all
together (?).

> Garner, Joel West Botham, Ian Terence 10

From spending time together at Somerset?

> McDermott, Craig John Aust Gooch, Graham Alan 10

Interesting that McDermott has dismissed Gooch more times than Alderman.

Morris was known as "Bedser's bunny" and there seems to have been some
justification for this. I make it Bedser bowled to Morris in 37 innings,
but this did not prevent Morris getting some impressive figures in the
earlier series, although he seems to have fallen off badly later on:

In No Runs Av
1946-7 8 1 503 71.85
1948 9 1 696 87.00
1950-1 9 0 321 35.66
1953 10 0 337 33.70
1954-5 1 0 153 153.00

It certainly would have if Alderman played in 1985 (sigh).

Fascianting list. Just a question - how often has Danny Morrison
dismissed Allan Border in tests?

Hi,

Can someone post the list on this forum once more....I missed it
and my site does not hold it any more.

On the related topics. Anyone know how many times did B.S Chandrshekar
dismiss Keith Fletcher (Eng) ?

Thanx

Sorry to follow up my own post, but could'nt resist going through the
stats.

Srikkanth was dissmissed by Akram 9 times in as many tests.
3 - in 5 tests in India - 87
6 - in 4 tests in Pak - 89

On top of that, it doesn't include any mention for Richard
Hadlee against anyone. My guess is that this is because New Zealand
played fewer tests per year than many other sides, and very few
series of more than three tests. As a consequence, Hadlee's matches
were spread more evenly over the different test opponents (whereas
Australian bowlers bowl at West Indian and English opposition far
more than anyone else, for instance) and against more players (the
players he played in 1975 were on the whole different to those
he played in 1986). Possibly though it also suggests that he had
few particular bunnies: he just got everyone out :-)
