Do you want them broken down into deliberate and accidental too?
Higgs
No. Just the raw numbers. But if they are given that way I can add
them up to get the total just as long as there is no third category
like existential.

That will have to wait till the French start playing cricket.

True.
Not that any statistics on this are available in the first place.
There is nothing in a scorecard which differentiates a no-ball for
overstepping from a no-ball for throwing or a no-ball for height. The
only way to get the numbers would be to go through the commentary or
the video recordings for each and every no-ball, and I doubt whether
Aslam has those available, even if he had the time to scrutinise them.

Mike
Yep. Maybe the task would be a little bit easier if the statistics are
taken from the time since the ball by ball commentary has been
available.
This is still harder to do but would be interesting: How many balls
have gone (full toss) way over the batsmen's head (one would think
those have to be accidental or deliberate beamers that went off
target:)) and how many have been full tosses somewhere below being a
beamer but say above thigh hight. If the beamers are truly accidental
my guess is that one should see somewhat higher number of full tosses
(between thigh and chest) and somewhat lower number of total air balls
(way above head). The argument being that they are all due to loss of
control but total air ball would require total loss of control and
full tosses would require lesser loss of control and should happen
more often. If the beamer (shoulder to somewhat above head) numbers
are higher than full tosses (between thigh to chest) there may be
something going on. Of course this is hard (if not impossible) to do
with records.

One way to find out would be to take the top 100 RSC threads. They
would be about Chucking, umpiring and beamers.

As soon as you provide us the smile recognition software we will start
the project:)
