This is in refrence to the article in which Srikanth describes his antics.

Srikanth recounted most of his odd happenings in a bold fashion. But he did
not mention the most ludicrous situation he was in whenever he was playing
Pakistan on his last tour. I am referring to the one day international in
Sialkot where he was not batting very well against Waqar Younis and Wasim Akram.
He played for many overs fishing outside the off stump and not connecting any.
In that particular situation even a nick to the slip or keeper would have been
a mercy for him. Snicked, he did, but after an agonising half an hour. He
apparently did not agree with the umpire and was walking back shaking his head,
obviously not satisfied with the decision. Imran Khan saw it and asked the
umpire to bring him back to bat. And surprise, surprise, Srikanth walks back
and takes stance. And guess what, he was bowled next ball, by Waqar Younus.
I'd say that was unbecoming of a player who is representing his country, and
more so if he happens to be the captain of the side.

I was surprised when he did not mention it in his memoirs of embarassing moments.

I don't remember the incident off the top of my head, so I can't
comment on the veracity of what you say. But what does seem clear is
that Srikkanth, in this instance did not do anything altogether
unbecoming. If he felt he was not out, and Imran called him back, I
fail to see what the problem is - seems like a perfectly legitimate
course of action. Of course, if Srikkanth really got an obvious nick
on the ball and was not being honest (which I doubt, but don't know
for sure either way), then I disapprove (like that'll make a
difference to anyone's life :) ). In which case it reminds me of a
certain clear nick a certain batsman got while hooking a certain
delivery in 1985 :-) [I still haven't forgiven him for that... same
goes for a certain Aussie fielder in 1991]

On the other hand, if you are suggesting that being bowled by Waqar
Younis is unbecoming, well I can't agree with that either. That's the
sort of thing that one really can't help more often than not :)

Rohan.

Hmm, that didn't do me much good in the race to overtake Geoff.. so:

(it wasn't sialkot; the game was played in kaddafi stadium Lahore). He was
given lbw but he thought that the ball had touched the bat and waived his
bat towards the umpire, on this Imran called him back. I was there in the
stadium and i remember very clearly that crowd went nuts on Imran's decision
and sri's caught behind the next delivery.

Here is another one such incident I witnessed in a Ranji match between
Andhra and Tamilnadu in 1985-86 season.

That time Srikanth is the Tamilnadu opener along with V. Sivaramakrishnan
In the first innings Sivaramakrishnan opend the innings and was out first ball.
So on the third day, when tamilnadu batted again in the second innings,
the openers were walking towards wicket, and Sivaramkrishnan was going towards
the strikers end, but Srikanth said something to him and they switched places.
Srikanth went to the strikes end and was ready to face the first ball.
We were all waiting for a big innings from him, as he had a good season with
india till then.

So the bowler charges in, and bowls one outside the off stump. Srikanth
flashes at the ball, and he is out caught in the first slip.

I am sure it must have been a very painful walk back to the pavilion to him.

Incidently, the bowler is one Krishnamohan, who was very fast, but very
straight, never had the ability to swing the ball. In the same match T.A.Sekhar
also played, and this krishnamohan looked as fast as T. A. Sekhar.
Particulary that season, he was rated very highly by lots of people, but
he faded from the scene after that season.

On another occasion in Pakistan, when the same Srikkanth was facing Sarfaraz
Nawaz, Sarfaraz appealed for LBW. The umpire (I do not remember whether it was
Khizar Hayat, Mehboob Shah or Shaqoor Rana, but does it matter?) turned down
the appeal. Almost a minute later, Srikkanth, after looking around the field,
had taken stance to face the next delivery, but Sarfaraz was still howling at
the umpire. And then, obviously intimidated by Sarfaraz towering over him and
yelling at him, the umpire raised his finger and gave Srikkanth out.

For whom was that an embarrassing moment - Srikkanth, Sarfaraz, the umpire,
or Pakistan?

Arun.

It was Aaquib Javed he was having trouble to play. Aquib beat him 4 times
in a row. And finally when he was asked to bat again, it was Aquib who
bowled him.
