Someone told me that he's a clean shaven sikh. I never read that any where.
I'm sure someone here knows...

IIRC he wears the "kadda" that Sikh guys are supposed to wear even if
they don't wear the turban

Despite Yuvraj's mom's urdu/farsi sounding name (Shabnam ... which
means "dew" IIRC), she is not muslim. Her name before marriage was
Arora, which could be either Sikh or Hindu. She and her mother
(Yuvraj's grandmom) were featured on the Zee show "Jeena isi ka naam
hai"

Kadda is born by many punjabis or let us say north indians and maybe
even "All indians" regardless of religion.

I do not mean to be pedantic but just because we know indian team
share their " boxes" (harbhajan injury in SA) means for hygenic
reasons, Yuvaraj and others definitley also wear a Kachhha...does that
make them all Sikhs...we know most of the team have their own "kesh"
and kripan tooting bodyguards!

If yuvaraj's one grandpa is Brahmin, the other (Bundela) is a rajput,
then his father is a soot by strict definitions and hence Yuvaraj is a
soot-putra.

I find it interesting that religion is an issue in cricket. Of course it was
true in the Bradman era in Australia and I'm not sure when it died out
