Harbhajan cleared of racist gestures

No surprise here at all.

As usual this was total CRAP from the AGP who have nothing else to do
other than be spooked by this mighty Indian team. They would whinge and
whine about murdering an Aussie insect even if Harby swatted a fly away
these days..........!!!

LOL!!

So, when Symonds was abused by crowds in India, he must have had a
part in it going by your explanation.
Do you have any facts to support your insinuation about Harbhajan?

It probably does. There's not a single doubt in my mind that there
was a section of the crowd abusing him in some way. Perhaps he was
hamming it up, parodying his actions, who knows. It's hardly
worthy of punishment though. I'd almost guarantee he was dishing
out a lot less than the crowd was giving him.

I'm with Larry on this one.

Cheers,
Rod.

A professional sportsman should not allow the crowd to goad them into
potentially offensive behaviour. Murali has been (rightfully) copping
it for years down here but doesn't seem to affect him.

A professional sportsman shouldn't be subjected to abuse from the
sidelines.

It's a bit hard/ridiculous to evict an entire crowd for telling a
bloke to get a haircut.

Rod

I doubt the entire crowd was asking Harbhajan to get a haircut.
Clearly he was copping abuse from those in the vicinity. Do you
think it's right that sportsmen should be subject to abuse from
the crowd?

Rod.

Of course it's not, but it's not like you'll have sizeable crowds at
games if you ban spectators from saying 'show us your reference
section' to a player.

I'd accept that 'get a haircut' to any player but Harbhajan would
have been acceptable. However, if you think that's all the crowd
was saying to him, I have a bridge on the harbour I'd like to sell

The poster with whom you are corresponding illustrates the real problem
perfectly. Which is not the practicalities of throwing out large sections
of the crowd, but that he doesn't believe the chant was offensive in the

You could be right. While I don't know much about the Sikh religion,

offensive and clearly the reason why it was used.

If you knew anything about Australians, you would have some idea of
how incorrect that statement is. A bald man will cop 'get a haircut'
because there is no worthy comeback, only frustration with the
treatment they're getting.

It's obvious to everyone here that *you* know nothing about the
Sikh religion. So here's an article that will hopefully enlighten
you.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kesh_%28Sikhism%29

Quote-- "Kesh is considered the most important of the Five Ks.
At the Amrit Sanchar in 1699, Guru Gobind Singh explained the
reason for this :

My Sikh shall not use the razor. For him the use of razor or
shaving the chin shall be as sinful as incest. For the Khalsa
such a symbol is prescribed so that a Sikh cannot remain
undistinguishable from among a hundred thousand Hindus
or Muslims; because how can he hide himself with hair and
turban on his head and with a flowing beard?

So important is Kesh that during the persecution of Sikhs
under the Mughal Empire, followers were willing to face
death rather than shave or cut their hair to disguise themselves
or appease the Khan. Bhai Taru Singh was executed for refusing
to cut his hair as an offering to Zakaria Khan, the governor of
Punjab, in 1745. He became a martyr and a symbol of the
importance of Kesh." -- Unquote.

It should pretty obvious from the Wikipedia article about the
significance of hair (kesh) to the Sikh religion. On second
thoughts, if you're still in doubt, try asking a group of young
Sikhs in Toronto/London/Delhi whether they would like to have
a haircut. You would probably be lucky to escape alive.

Let me get this straight, if other Sikh's were to suggest in this

you'd rather be an ape than something else.... If that is some of your

claim Indian cricketers are F***ing Indian slaves those are your own word
no twisting and no manipulating and they are there for the others to see.
