Once, as far as I know. Also, it was NOT a boundary off every ball,
there was a no ball (ie. 6 fours off 7 balls, still not too shabby). It was
off Willis in **** ( maybe Edgbaston ???)

Sandeep Patil has hit 6 boundaries in an over, only once. This was against
Bob willis in England, in a test match. I think it was a 7 ball over.
Ravi Shastri has hit 6 sixes in an over . The bowler was an offspiner who
plays for Baroda. Forgot his name.

The bowler was Tilak Raj of Baroda....was almost the end of the game and was called on to
bowl his donkey drops & full-tosses, which he obligingly did, to help Shastri get to
201 n.o. and his own name in the record books....
Yae, Swetal is right. There was a noball, but Sandeep didn't get any run
in that ball.
Ravi registered his name in record books in a Ranji game against Baroda.
The bowler was Tilak Raj. Tilak was a part-time bowler (or call him all-
rounder!). Ravi's comment after the game was interesting....."After the
4th six only I realized the possibility of the record. I had to chase
the last ball out side the off stump to accomplish the record". The
SPORTSTAR, in its coverage, said Tilak refused the request for a photo
with Ravi. If I remember correctly, Sunny was the captain and Vengsarkar
was not in the game because of some injury. The manager of Bombay team
was Sandeep Patil!

The bowler was TILAKRAJ. Match was played in Bombay at Wankhede St.

I think it was in 1982(perhaps 81-82) series against England in England. But
Patil hit 6 fours in one over which included a no ball also i.e. effectively he
played 7 deliveries though its just one over from willis. Yes he did reach his
century that way. Willis just did not know where to pitch the ball.

Yeah, I'm sure it was nearing the end of the game....Tilak Raj WAS bowling
like a true non-specialist bowler....the game was heading for a draw anyway
I've no idea what the Baroda skipper's intentions were like, but I saw the
game & it didn't look like Tilak Raj was really keen on turning the game around.Kind of like like some obscure English County game around 10 yrs. ago when SteveO'Shaughnessy (Lancs. I think) got a hundred in record time and the bowlers did
all they could to help him get his last fifty faster than anyone else....
Don't remember too much about that game, though....
Wasn't the original record set by Gary Sobers at somewhere like Swansea?
Someone must know if this is right or not and if so who the bowler was.
Alan.
Here's the details:
Gary Sobers became the first batsman to hit six consecutive 6's from a
six-ball over in 1968. He was playing for Notts at the St Helen's
ground against Glamorgan. The bowler was left-arm Malcolm Nash.
Ravi Shastri equalled the record in January 1985, batting for Bombay
against Baroda at the Wankhede Stadium. The bowler was Tilak Raj.
Sorry to interject some facts into this newsgroup :-).

Yup, it was Malcolm Nash
Sadiq.
You're right, it was in Swansea and the poor bowler was
Malcolm Oliver Nash (sp?).
Pradeep.
