Apologies for not meeting your deadline.
It was a decent spell, although not as good as the figures (which should
have been 8-46 if Guptill could catch) would indicate. Southee has for some
time been capable of such bursts, but has already in a short career suffered
several bouts of losing his action and having his bowling go off the rails.
However two other comments:
1. India doesn't take NZ seriously and seldom raises its game above that
necessary to win
2. Journeymen cricketers do take seven-wicket bags. Of the New Zealanders
who have performed this feat, Lance Cairns and Simon Doull (especially
Cairns) are examples of bowlers who were decent but hardly world-beaters.
