Just got back from Manchester, UK, where the Thopson-Eubank fight for
the WBO cruiserweight title was the high spot of the evening.

After 12 rounds, Eubank lost on points, but showed real heart and
determination, even managing to put down Thompson fairly early.

After Hamed showed again that he has massive punch power, questionable
defense, and a realy slimey attitude, I was left thinking whether
Hamed would be able to put together two back to back loss's of the
quality that Eubank has doe aginst Calzache and Thompson.

The answer for Hamed? No chance. Big punch....No class.

No one will give a fuck about you when you lose. One of his fans, sat
in the row behind us, showed their true loyalty throughout the fight,
by shouting out "come on Nazim..........CUNT"

Me and the friend I was with made the mistake of standing and shouting
"Yes" when Vasquez connected early on. It's pretty weird to be the
only two people stood up in a crowd of 18,000+

The Herbie Hide0 Damon Reed fight was a 52 second joke. Rumour has it
that Hides next opponeant is going to be the little guy who was
dancing in Vasquez's corner before the fight.

Robin Reid, the former WBC super middle champ was fighting on the
undercard against a UK domestic fighter with a record of 13-3??

Reid looked far from world class, and took 6ish rounds to catch the
limited opponeant. Don't think he is going to see any big paydays in
the future.

When I was the president of amateur boxing in NY in the eighties, there
was this wild Brit fighting out of the Jerome Boxing Club in the Bronx.
He was a limited fighter who was a willing gunfighter and would step in
with the top talent we had anytime it was offered to him. While never
becoming a NY champion he was always fun to be around. When his mentor
and trainer, Adonis Torres, passed away the boy was devestated. He
apparently went back home to continue with what we thought was to be a
limited career. Of course he grew up to be Chris Eubank who I can tell
you has plenty of fans in the Big Apple.

Regards,
Jim

I've always admired Eubank as a fighter and I hope he will be remembered
as one of the greatest warriors ever to fight out of the UK.

By the way, were the Gallagher Bros in attendance? Probably not......
