David Haye's "Top Five Insults" on Nikolai Valuev
By Mark Vester
British paper The Mirror ran a piece outlining the top ten insults
that were spewed out by heavyweight contender David Haye. No surprise
here; the top five insults were all directed at WBA heavyweight
champion Nikolai Valuev. Haye challenges Valuev for the title on
Saturday night in Germany.
1. (on Valuev)
"He is the ugliest human being I’ve ever seen in the flesh. I’ve seen
ugly guys before in movies, but that’s probably the prosthetics. But
I’m talking about, physically with no make-up. He’s the ugliest human
being on Earth. He makes the Elephant Man look like Pamela Anderson."
2. (on Valuev)
“Valuev’s known as ‘The Beast from the East’ and there’s a reason he’s
got that nickname. He’s a big, ugly, sweaty and hairy man from the
Eastern bloc.”
3. (on Valuev)
"He is the ugliest thing I have ever seen. I have watched Lord of the
Rings and films with strange looking people but for a human being to
look like he does is pretty shocking.”
4. (on Valuev)
"All you've got to do is look at a picture of the guy and that speaks
volumes. I consider him more of a circus show freak that happens to be
boxing. He's an ugly type of fighter, he tries to lean on you, tries
to brawl and comes out with a really hairy chest that gets matted and
is disgusting. I've never been a big fan of the matted hair in my
face."
5. (on Valuev)
"The size I am, I sort of come up to his chest and apparently the word
around the campfire is that he doesn't smell too sweet. I've talked to
a few guys that have been in the ring with him and they say that's the
first thing they notice, just the stench. Hopefully he runs a cold tap
over himself or someone hoses him down outside before he comes in

Keep em comin' David....
I don't think he's afraid to fight the brothers, i do think he plans
of fighting them (or at least one of them) now that he has a world
title belt which will entitle him to a bigger cut than what was
previously offered by the brothers. It's a business after all.
Not sure if he can beat either brother, but I like his chances (moreso
against Wlad). I predict he will fight a Klitscho in 2010.
Before that happens, I would like to see him in against a top-five
conventional heavyweight (Monte Barrett wasn't quite that, but close).
How about Haye vs. Arreola in early 2010? or Haye vs. that accountant
dude? Then he could fight a Klit later in the year in a well built up
fight.
Just musing...
STRATEGY
oh, and I realize that Haye apparently has a mandatory against Ruiz,
so maybe there is my "beat a top-five conventional heavyweight"
requirement?
I think he has the speed and mobility to negate and escape from the
"Ruiz Clutch", much like Toney and Jones did. That means Ruiz will
have to outbox or outslug Haye, and I don't think he can do it without
the help of his biggest weapon.
STRATEGY
"Accountant dude"? Who's that, Calvin Brock?
Haye-Arreola would be awesome.
Yeah, that's the guy.
