I hope Baby doll whooped Trevino Good!!!!!
Quarter Pounder
I watched the last 4 rounds or so. Baby Doll did win a unanimous decision
and looked better throughout from what I saw, though it was typical women's/
Rocky-style boxing. All punching, no defense, without enough steam on the
punches to do any real damage, especially Trevino, who was barely flicking
punches at the end.
The fight before was a far better display of boxing skill, though those two
women were far less attractive. I think that means something...

Yeah, there might be something to that....but then again some women
have both skill and that other "quality", like Anisa Zamarron and
Lucia Rijker for example. I don't see anything wrong with that tho,
I mean, the casual women boxing fans have their Oscar D, why can't
we have our Baby Doll Rileys. :)
In the short run it might create a less than credible perception of
Women's Boxing in some people, to have attractive but less skilled
fighters be promoted as the stars and the emissaries of the sport. I
think eventually though, the Tracy Byrd's, Dora & Cora Webb's and
Lucia Rijkers of the sport will rise to the top and command the
attention. They always do.
In the meantime tho....I don't mind much that they throw blond,
blue-eyed bombshells who have no defense and just go in and slug,
like Shannon "Dallas" Hall, at us. I mean, how much defense do you
expect in 1 or 2 minute rounds anyway, they don't have the time to
box. It's kind of exciting....and who's gonna tell Shannon Dallas
Hall that she doesn't deserve to be the Toughwoman champion just
because she's good looking, certainly not me.

(No, I'm really not that skinny...I just like Cheeseburgers.)

Let's say is was typical "novice" Rocky-style boxing. That's what the
women are now - novices. And will be until they begin to get better trained in
the sport of boxing - NOT the martial arts.

Not sure what you mean here - you probably aren't either. };-> There
were several women who participated at the amateur national championships last
year who (1) could box with skill and (2) were pretty enough to be models.

Hey Walt:

What in the world are "Golden Gloves special weights?" Our amatuer
women's weight classes start at 95 Lbs. and ALL rounds are 2 minutes in
duration. Were these young girls, under the age of 17? And where did you see
this? Just curious.

Whew! Thanks for the clarification. Regular Junior Olympic division
bouts. Sorry I reacted, but Golden Gloves has a history of breaking the rules.

Yup - nothing but punches for the whole time. My favorites are the 8
year olds (hard to judge, though) - they never quit.
