WGBB 1240 AM PRESENTS ITS WEEKLY
"SATURDAY NIGHT BOXING CHAT"
With Co-Hosts Al Gavin and Mike Trezza

Garden City, NY, Feb. 9, 1999 - WGBB 1240 AM continues this Saturday
with
"Saturday Night Boxing Chat" with Al Gavin and Mike Trezza. The 1-hour
show is
broadcast each Saturday, live from the ~'GBB studios in Merrick, NY,
starting at 6:00
p.m. Listeners can expect great commentarv from its hosts and a number
of special
guests that are invited each week.

This week's show will feature Bruce Silverglade, owner of the
legendary and original
Gleason's Gym in Brooklyn, NY. Silverglade has seen many world
champions and
filture champions train at his gym for many years now, and he is an
excellent source of
boxing information and knowledge.

Scheduled for luture appearances are Bill Farrell of the Daily News
(Feb.20). Farrell ~
will be talking about this vear's New York Daily News Golden Gloves
tournament
already taking place in different areas of New York City. Farrell
~vrites a daily column in
the Daily News covering the tournament. Ring 8, an organization that
helps retired
boxers, will have something to say on March 27 when Tony Mezorella,
Howie Albert and
Bobby Bartels, appear on the show. For many years now, these three
individuals form an
integral part of Ring 8 and thev will be talking about the current
state of the sport of
boxing.

During this first season, "Saturday Night Boxing Chat" has had such
guests as
champion Cathy Collins, Heavyweight contender Richie "The Bull"
Melito, New York
State Athletic Commissioner Bob Duff~ and former Heavyweight contender
Gerry
Cooney, among others.

Co-Host Al Gavin is a renown boxing trainer and one of the sport's
premier Cutmen.
On March 13, one of his most famous clients, current Word Boxing
Council
Heavyweight champion, Lennox Lewis, will take on Evander Holyfield in
a unification


niatch at Madison Square Garden. Holyfield holds the International
Boxing Federation
and World Boxing Association titles. During the next few weeks, listen
to Gavin give his
take on this fight. His Co-Host, Trezza, is the boxing ~vriter for New
York Newsday.
The two individuals have a perfect chemistry on the air and are
attracting more and more
listeners each week. They also award the listeners with tickets to
filture boxing events
who answer trivia questions.
