What a waste of time. But we should give Ruskan Chagaev his props.
He took the fight on short notice.
Robotic Klitschko had two punches in his arsenal, the straight
heavy-handed jab, and the straight right-hand shots. He was very
methodical in taking Chagaev apart.
I was able read my book, sip a cup of hot green tea, and watch the
fight. The book is a heavy reading, the tea tasted great, and
Klitschko was absolutely predictable in his pedestrian approach to
hitting but not getting hit.

So what book are you reading? I just finished 'Diary of a Rock n Roll Star'
about Ian Hunter/Mott the Hoople and it's a dandy. Hopefully the guy I lent
it to will return it someday. And I'm about to start 'My View From the
Corner' by Angelo Dundee which I borrowed from a different friend who
probably feels the same way. He said it's a pretty good book but a slow read
whatever the hell that means...

A slow read could mean many things. For instance, any book about
applied astrophysics would slow me down a bit, and any book about the
intelligent contribution of Hollywood movie starlets would put me to
sleep, thus, slow to the finish.
In regard to the televising of the Chagaev vs Klitschko, I happened up
it by accident at 2:00 pm on ESPN here on the west coast. Up to that
point, I could find no mention of it other than what some of the
helpful members of the RSB regulars posted.

This fight yes. But he had been in shape to fight Valuev a few weeks
before.

You're right, "Klitschko was absolutely predictable". And yet he keeps
winning even though every opponent knows exactly what Wlad's fight
plan will be.

WK did what he does well - use his abilities and physical advantages. It
was a good performance from him and Chagaev was never in the
fight. Which is astonishing when you think he beat the bigger Valuev.

A clear win for Chagaev. Let's also remember that Valuev was offered
the Wlad fight after Haye's injury but chickened out.

I didn't know that. Wlad or Vit would crucify that monster I think. They
have the reach and the strength. Speed not required.

I thought Valuev fought pretty well in that fight, but I guess he
deserved to lose the decision. He didn't look terrible. Wlad would
annihilate him though.
