I was looking at some of the boards archives and was wondering if this
Javier Alvarez still makes post to this newsgroup. Javier, you out
there? Anyone know him?

Haven't heard from Javier in years and years. I'll ask in
Colorado Springs next month - maybe someone from Texas knows about
him.

Hi Arturo - brother of Hector. 8-) Of course I remember you.
Are you going to the Championships next month?

I'm not sure yet. My brother will be there (via USAF) He's fighting at
the Armed Forces next week, so i'm thinking of making it out to
Arizona, not sure yet.

Wish Hector good luck for me. And I hope to see both of you
next month. Is Al Alaniz still the USAF coach?

No, Mr. Alaniz got into some trouble a few years back and no longer
coaches the USAF team. Ronalds Simms was handed those duties after Mr.
Alaniz "stepped down". This year Simms assistant coach is serving as a
head coach. Simms was deported to Korea back in Dec.04

That's too bad. He was one of the good guys. Did see him in
So. Cal. at a pro show several years ago, however.

And what did Ron do to get deported? LOL! 8-)

To give you my point of view about this news group - mostly,
if not all, fans - some good, knowledgeable boxing people and a
more-than-we-need amount of trolls and racists. If you lurk, you'll
occasionally find some threads of interest that you might want to
participate in. I've been checking RSB for around ten years and
manage to post occasionally, mostly about amateur boxing or fighters I
knew as amateurs.

Dont ask why i said "deported" what i meant to say was stationed.
Ronalds is stationed in Korea.
