In his last fight, on 4-1-00, Robert Davis won the NABF INTERIM TITLE in
Las Vegas, NV, knocking Keith McKnight (38-2): Robert scored two knockdown
in the 2nd round, one in the 4th, and another to finish the fight at 2:07 of
the 5th.
Before losing a decision in his last fight, "Cowboy" Calvin Lampkin had won
18 in a row. A former member of the Army's "Ranger" unit, he learned to box
while in the service, where he reportedly went 15-0 as an amateur. As a pro,
two of his losses came very early in his career against troubled contender
Ike Ibeabuchi.
Former IBF cruiserweight champion Al Cole was 6-0 in world championship
fights. He vacated the title to move up to the heavyweight division in 1996,
and has proven to be a tough, tenacious competitor. He has fought two of the
best young prospects in the division, Michael Grant once and Kirk Johnson
twice, and held his own in all three exciting fights. He has wins against
two fighters who went on to win cruiserweight world titles, Nate Miller and
Uriah Grant.
Willie "Black Steel" Williams is an aggressive, hard-hitting slugger, and
always makes exciting fights.
