my man chris walsh won a points decision from hector macho camacho last night
in north carolina .
they had to go to the score cards in to the 7th round after he was headbutted
for the 2nd time by macho and was bleeding pretty bad from above both eyes .

the score cards were 58 - 56 on 2 cards and 59 - 55 on the other , a unanimous
decision in chriss favor .

it was a great win for chris as they have been promising him the match for
about 5 years now .

i know alot of you guys trade tapes and i was told by a friend that he seen
some cam corders there , hopefully someone can make a con ection for me .
please let me know .
thanks.
happy easter

Mel,

I was at that show. (Sorry to the original poster, no tape, but it was on
closed circuit and displayed on the arena's jumbotrons. Surely they made a
copy for the Walsh camp--maybe you could get it that way if you have
connections there? Just a thought.)

Anyway, Mel... know anything about Donnell "The Real Touch of Sleep" Holmes?
They announced him as a former number one ranked amateur and I thought he
looked sharp.

Congrats to you and Chris, Gene. Not to diminish your guys
accomplishment, but how far has Hector fallen that he has to fight
(and why is he fighting?) up and coming prospects?

Cheers,

steve,thanks on the congrats.
hector was sent a tape of chris walsh's 12 round fight with antonio
esparagoza(about 3-4 weeks ago ) whom hector i think stoped in 7 rnds ? and he
knew what he was geting into as he gave the yes or no as far as the oponent
goes for the fight .

with that said i can't believe he didn't prepare himself for a "fight" , by
looking at the tape how could he think otherwise .

in his hey day and not to long ago he would have boxed circles around chris but
it was not to be this nite.

the bottom line was chris was ready and hector wasn't and he capitalized on
it.

hector still had his moments with hand speed but his legs seemed like cement
after 2 rnds .

he had said things like
"well ive trained for a boxing match not a war and if my oponent just gets in
the ring and sees me and lays down ill be happy "
in the local newspaper .

he also said he was suppose to be going over to asia "and he gets to pick the
oponents " for a few fights and will make close to a million $
his retirement spending money he said .
don't know if he can still do that now .

it was a good win for chris and we are hoping to get more oportunitys from it.
