You've reminded me of my own funny experience a while back. I was
scrambling to put a team together two days before league started. I
recalled that an attractive young woman in the office had mentioned that
she liked to play pool in her free time. The next day I went into work
and told her she was on the team.
We arrived at the bar early so we could warm up and I could get a look
at her game. By this time she's telling me she's not really *that* good
a player. The balls were racked for 8-ball, so I broke, made a couple
of stripes then turned it over to her. I said "You have solids," and
she looked puzzled. "Low balls," I added, to no improvement. "You can
hit any of the solid balls, numbers 1 to 7." Ahh.. now she understood.
She picked up a cue, approached the one ball and hit it with the cue
(and still managed to miss).
Dean <-- would've liked to teach her, though
