Hello I was just looking at some Viscotti cues online and they looked pretty
good but I was just wondering if anyone on this ng has ever shot with one or
has one and what their opinion of the cue is? How does it strike compared to
other cues out there?

They are made by Helmstetter or Adams cue company in Japan. If they are made
as good as Helmstetter's which I think they are, they would be a very good
cue. But be advise to stick with the one's that have the standard joint and
not the quick release. That way if you decide to get a Predator shaft for it
or any other 5/16-14 shaft it will fit on it.

The Viscotti cues are probably comparable to any medium level production cue
like Viking, McDermott, Lucasi, etc.

I have a Helmstetter and I love it. Great hitting and nice looking cue.

Even with the quick release joint, any cuemaker would be able to make you a
matching shaft with a Predator blank....

Yeah, but boy it would be one pain in ass thing to do and the cost of the
predator shaft will be much more expensive after all the alteration done to
make it functional. Save yourselft the trouble and stick to standard joints
like 5/16-14, 5/16-18, 3/8-10 and Uni-loc quick release. Radial joint would
be easy to do since you don't have to worry about a pilot in the shaft.

Some Viscotti like Nordic have a very unique quick release system. It would
be hard to find the shaft insert for it.

With my Helmstetter I can put a Predator shaft, a Falcon shaft,a Joss shaft
and even a Schon shaft on it. I am even thinking about getting a Schon shaft
for it. Hit of Schon just not the price of one. The butt section of the
Helmstetter joint and the butt section of the Schon joint look pretty much
identical(Pilot size, pin length, pin type).

Cuemakers can buy Predator blanks -- shafts with no female joint drilled in
them. Then they can adapt it to whatever joint they use on their butts.
The cost would likely be around $200 -- which is the retail price for a
Predator shaft anyways....

Yeah but you are still making your life harder Jeff. It's if you have the
choice. If you don't have the choice then what you say would be correct but
Viscotti cues use both a unique quick release and a standard joint. What
would be the most common sense choice if you wanted to add another shaft to
the cue you pick that is the easiest to do.
