I hade a pool cue given to me by a close friend a few monthes ago. I have sent
it off to be refinished. I was told it looked like a stick made by a company
called RICH. The cue is about 20-25 years old, straight, and in good overall
condition. It is a 3 piece cue with weight rings, two tone linen wrap , pearl
inlay dots, and a one inch ivory ring just above the wrap. I will try to get a
picture in here to view. I am trying to find out more on this company, the
actual age of the cue and its value. Any help would be much appreciated

Thanks, BOWL...@AOL.com

I have a Rich cue that originally belonged to my dad. I purchased the cue
about 30 years ago and gave it to him (because I broke his cue in frustration
one day). My cue, though, is only two piece. It has the pearl inlay dots
with a black wrap. And there is an inch ring just above the wrap but it's not
ivory I don't believe. I'm afraid I don't know anything about the company.
Do they still exist?

Rich cues are not Richie Florence.
They were made some years ago either by Adams or some other importer..

My 1st cue was a Brunswick Masterstroke, kind of a poor man's Willie Hoppe,
fiber collar instead of brass, 4 solid points without the inlays. My 2nd cue
was a Rich. The model was called the 'Rosezebra', the butt was a combination
of rosewood and zebrawood. I don't remember what became of the Rich. In 1966
my now ex-wife and I honeymooned in Miami. I had the Brunswick in the trunk
of our car and we had traveled through a few rainstorms. On the way back to
New York we stayed overnight in Georgia. There was a pool room across the
road from the motel and we decided to play a few games after dinner. When I
opened my cue case and removed what was left of my beloved cue I almost
cried. It had swelled so bad the shaft was like mush and the leather wrap
had split in several places. Ironically the town we stayed in was Brunswick,
Georgia.
BTW, sorry I can't give you more info on the Rich, they were fairly popular
in the early '60's in Seattle when I bought it.

I believe the original Rich (out of NJ) is no longer in operation, Abe Rich split
from them before they closed up and took off to Florida, where to my knowledge he
is still operating as Star Mfg. in the Miami area. BTW - definately NOT Richie
Florance!.

I purchased a "Rich" cue from Peach State Billiards in Atlanta, GA, in
approximately 1980. As I recall, it cost about $80 then. It was all I could
afford to spend. I still play with it. It is well made, and has served me
well for many years. Peach State is still in business, but I have not visited
them for about 6 years.

I bought a Rich cue in 1968 for $39, which was a lot back then. It was a low end Rich. I left it in a leaky trunk anout 1980 and it ruined. Rich was the most popular cue in the poolhall I hung out at.

Hey Marshall, im in the same boat as you. I have my dads rich cue in the original case also. His has a clear ring at the bottom with his name inside. I remember him buying it back around 77-78 in Stanton, Ca. I still love using that cue
