Hello,

I have an old pool table circa 1900-1920. It looks exactly like a Brunswick
Balke Collender, model 'The Wellington". However, the manufactures
nameplate states:

WILLIE HOPPE CUSHION
ED FRIEDRICH
manufactures of
TEXAS PIONEER BILLIARD TABLES
SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS.

All of this is printed on a silver lable that looks just like the old
brunswick nameplates. I thought that a service company or a dealer just put
his own nameplate on the brunswick table. Now however, I have limited
information that Ed Friedrich actually manufactured their own pool tables.
Anyone know anything about this old company?

both could be correct

I was told by the owner of a table manufacturing co
that they regularly replaced Brunswick nameplates with their own,
and, Brunswick did the same

so this could be an old Brunswick that was redone by
a service co that also built tables

email me if you want more details

I did not see any ink on any slate, but I wasnt looking for it either. if
it was there, it was not very noticable, as I did a fair amount of work on
the slate near the pockets.
