Stanley West Cues?

Well, the time has finally come to get a new cue and (the crowd goes wild!)
this time I've actually got the money to buy something half decent.
Although I'm leaning towards ordering a Bludworth from Hawley's Billiards
(www.billardstore.com), the owner of my local poolhall has presented me
with a "Stanley West" cue and said, "My boy, this is the stick for you".
It looks good, has a good, reliable hit and is cheaper than the Bludworth I
was initially chasing - plus, of course, this is a cue I can try before I
buy.
The question is, has anyone actually heard of Stanley West cues?
If anyone has any info. I'd appreciate it before I cough up some hard
earned.
