Thinking of buying my groomsmen a cue (have it engraved), and a case.
I have 6 of these bad boys I need to buy for, and I don't want to break the bank in the process.
I know nothing about brand names and neither do they.
We play maybe once a month, but on the flip side I don't want to buy them crap.
Is the Harvard Pool Cue line in general a good stick to buy?
If so, any specific one in particular I should go after?

Thoughts, Comments, Suggestions?

Thanks guys (and gals),
Terry

You would be better off getting a Schmelke or even a Fox. Every Harvard I
have held feels like the linen wrap is ready to come off.

Seems like I might be getting the thumbs down on the Harvards.
I know I'm new here, and i'm askin a lot, but I'd like any thoughts on these cues at ebay.
Thanks again guys,
Terry

Very few nice cues can be found for under $50 (IMO). I have shot a Meuccis
and the Lucasis, I chose the Lucasi. They can be found for a little over
$100 as opposed to triple that for the Meucci. I don't know if cues are
such a good idea for a gift to 6 people on a budget.

Terry:

I like the way you think, but I'd nix the cues. You're gonna have to spend
more than you'd probably want to get something that they might not be happy
using.

I'd suggest going to www.mueller-sporting-goods.com and looking through
their catalog. They have a lot of pool related gift type things that should
fit the bill. If you've got a good local retailer, check with them too and
look at other internet web sites as well. I think you should be able to
find something that will fit your wallet and your needs while being
memorable for your groomsmen. Hey, you may even find something there for
the bridesmaids - but I wouldn't push it.

Good school....lousy cue.

As previously suggested, try Schmelke. Another choice might be Dufferin.
Both low cost - good quality for the money.

Adios,
