Is my Purple Heart Brunswick titlist that rare?

The other day I bought an old 1 piece Willie Hoppe Titlist cue. When I
bought it the butt section looked like coffee brown basically, with crap
brown, dirt brown, and mud brown veneers. I took the old Hoppe home and
sanded it down a bit to see what it would or could look like underneath all
that crap, and I was quite surprised to see a very spectacular (and I mean
spectacular) purple heart butt spliced into the maple top area of the cue
with the traditional purple, green, mahogany, and maple veneers between the
Purple Heart and maple sections.
I was going to send two or three Hoppe 1 piece cues out to have some
beautiful custom cues built to my specs, but now I'm sort of wondering, just
how rare is this 1 piece Purple Heart Titlist cue? I personally have never
even seen one before. I "might" have seen an ebony Titlist one time but I'm
actually not even completely positive on that cue. Pretty much every Titlist
I remember was Rosewood.
These Hoppe era cues were actually a bit before my time so I have to admit
that I don't know to much about them other than that personally, I have
always thought that they looked so sweet.
Has anyone else ever seen a non-Rosewood Hoppe Titlist cue?
I could probably upload some pictures soon, but not quite yet.

Thanks,

They aren't that rare, but not as many as the rosewood style. I think it's
tough to find either right now. Who do you plan to have make the conversions?

I am in the market for a PH titlist to be used for a conversion. If anyone has
one for sale please contact me with your asking price.

I don't have anyone lined up yet, but I have made a couple of inquiries. I
want my Rosewood cue to be almost unchanged other than an ivory or brass
joint with plain black collars, and the traditional Hoppe butt cap with the
ivory ring and short black phenolic ring beneath that. If I go with the
brass joint I might not even add a butt cap. It will be a bit plain, but the
points are enough for me.
The Purple Heart cue is going to get an ivory or steel joint, some serious
ivory inlays at the points (perhaps some barbells), and most likely a maple
section in the butt with four veneered rectangle boxes that match (close
match hopefully) the veneers in the points. I know its hard to describe in
print but I'm imagining the veneered boxes that I've seen done very well on
Tad and Gina cues.
Boxes like this:

or this:

I would like the veneers in the boxes to be close to the traditional purple,
green, mahogany, maple Titlist points.
There will be probably be inlays within the boxes that compliment the inlays
that I choose for the points.
Ringwork? Well I just haven't decided yet. It would be cool if both of the
cues had matching ringwork at the joints but its not a big issue.
Does anyone know if there would there be any structural issues with cutting
the cue off about two inches above the points and adding a three inch butt
section?
I have done a few designs by mostly cutting, pasting, and changing colors
around in PhotoShop.
I'm narrowing the PH Titlist design down to two or three looks that I like
but I'll probably keep changing my mind forever until I send the cues out.

If any cue builders reading RSB would like the job, please feel free to
email me.
