I have read ( and read ) many post on this and other forums on the net about
this Fast Larry character ( from Fast himself ) and read from others about
their opinions relating to Fast. He claims ( and claims .. and claims ) many
things that he has accomplished in the pool world. I read that he lives in
Atlanta .. is the TASA ( ? ) World Trick Shot Champion .. and on and on and
on. I grew up in Atlanta and know every living human who can runout and draw
their ball that lives there or is from there .. I learned to play at York's
and Guys and Dolls in downtown Atlanta from my buddy .. Billy Johnson ( for
those of you who want his real name: Wade Crane ) .. and have talked to some
of the old crowd and some of the new crowd recently .. and asked "Who is
this Larry Guninger ?" and .. have yet to find anyone who has heard about
him from the old days .. only thing anyone I have talked to has to say is
that his ( self ) exploits and ( self ) claims seem to have started in the
90's. Now I don't know what is real or not about this guy .. and I don't
know Larry .. and I don't care ( except it ( or he ) screws up the forums )
.. but I damn sure know nearly every living human in the pool business and
have since the 60's, most all the pros, most all of the top amateurs, most
all of the road players, most all of the cuemakers, most all of the trick
shot guys, most all of the promoters, have owned 5 poolrooms in various
parts of the country .. and know most all of those who post here and other
forums .. and can backup every claim I just made and have thousands of
people in the business who will tell you the same about me ... so ... why do
the post and responses from this guy seem to bother so many people ... when
is is likely he is nothing more than a ( self proclaimed ) sucker !! Reminds
me of the story at the U J Puckett tournament I promoted at Champs ( now
CJs ) in Dallas about 13 years ago with many of the greats and pros present
.. and; Mosconi and wife; Caras and wife; Preacher Fenney; Massey; Miz and a
thousand spectators .. Larry's and his ( self promoted and claimed ) stories
remind me of a local buddy of mine that came in during the Puckett event ..
sat down at the bar .. and stated he was looking for a sucker to play .. and
soon after looking around the room at all the world beaters ... realized he
was the sucker!!!
I'm sure Fast will jump on me about this post but I bet my old friends (
will ) and I ( will ) respond and fade his crap .. with the truth.

He responds to his own posts and to other posts with several
different screen names. He seems to be knowledgeable, but has a very
irritation mannerism. He is supposed to be at VF, so I am with
holding judgement until I see him in person. Most of what he claims
is from Ripley's, not the BCA or any "pool" related organization. He
seems to have so many screen names I can't tell if he is real or a
filament of his own illumination.
Frank <-more to come after VF
(*<~ John, WTF would you trot this troll post out here in RSB. You
**KNOW** this asshole will RUIN this group if he starts defending
himself here, not to mention the adolescent stalkers that follow him
from board to board.
I'm surprised and disappointed in you for this action. It's bad
enough that you're trolling AzBilliards with this crap, but to bring it
here is unacceptable.
You must truly be bored to death.
I just can't believe it.... imo

Please don't bring this crap to RSB. Go visit the above link to get
just a small taste of what McChesney is attempting to bring here.
I thought John Mc had more/better sense than this.
I'm beside myself (and, THAT ain't easy)

> Who is Fast Larry Guninger
My impression about his approach to trick shots is that he takes a
very difficult shot with a large luck factor, shoots it thousands of
times with a video camera running, and then when he finally makes it
he shows the edited result. That's not necessarily a bad thing, it
is just a different approach than most other trick shot artists.
I never heard of him until about six years ago when he was on the
Ripley's TV show. As far as I know, he does not have a regular tour
(like e.g. Scott Lee), and he is not a regular tournament player
(e.g. like Mike Massey). That also is not necessarily a bad thing,
it is just different than most other trick shot artists out there.
I think Deno Andrews once said that he knew him personally. Maybe
Deno can give us some more information about his background.

Wow .... how enlightening .... guess I'll have to recheck Webster's
....
I can make many of the 70-something shots in the artistic billiards
program, even if I've only made them once or twice in my life from
hundreds of tries.
Guess I'm a trick shot artist too ..... (not).
Not necessarily a bad thing ????
Puh --- lease ...
A trick shot artist who can't make trick shots more or less on demand
is more like a con artist with a bigger sales pitch than stroke.
Well then again ... I've heard of people covering an elephant's foot
with paint, having them step on a canvas, and then try to sell it as
art. One person's art is another person's (fill in your own
expletive).

(*<~ Yep, your 'humor' came through. I haven't/didn't reply to most
of these posts because I figured everyone here has some kind of medical
problems (or aches) and I didn't want to turn RSB into Chicago Hope....
Thanks to everyone that wishes me well.
If I don't make it,
I'll go out with class.
And, the internet,
