Vivian Villareal is the worst example of a pool player I've seen on TV
or in person. She talks and comments during her matches which is a
"shark move" IMO. I sent emails to the WPBA board members and
complained about her actions during the TV matches and how it
disrupted her opponents. The replies I got from the WPBA board members
were this "ESPN encourages her to act like she does, ex. - talking
while her opponents are shooting and whistleing when she isn't running
her mouth" I think she is giving pool bad exposure to young up and
coming pool players who may think it's OK to act like that when you
are playing pool! Thanks to Allison Fisher and Karen Corr we don't
see her on TV much anymore.
If anyone thinks she can play with the men they must not have seen the
ESPN Ultimate Challenge men's champion (CJ Whiley) vs the women's
champion (Vivian Villareal) title match a couple of years ago for at
least $50,000. CJ Whiley destoyed her and she ran her mouth the
entire match while CJ was shooting!!
That's my 2 cents.

She's not near Fats's caliber in the Bullshitting department, nor is her
name synonomous with Pool like Fats's is.I think you're right though,
she couldn't really believe that deep down inside.

I find it strange that we only seem to get men in the trick-shot
competitions and women shooting 9 ball. Occasionally they show men's
9 ball, but I never seem to catch it.
Maybe it's because the men run out too often. That and maybe they
think sex appeal will get more men to watch.

A lot of men on the tour feel that if they can run lots of racks of balls it
qualifies them to make the types of leadership, marketing, and return and
invested capital decisions that are required to run a successful business.
They also feel that highly educated white collar corporate executives are
attracted to doing business with people that spent almost their entire life
gambling, hustling and cutting school to work on their break shot.
Until all the players realize that their unique skills on the table have
little to do with running a successful tour with TV exposure etc... they
have no chance of having one.

Yeah, that was deadly! I was only able to watch a couple of matches.
But to be fair, I think it had more to do with the format (a loss
didn't send a player home), the sparse audience (most attendees went
to watch Archer, Morris, Parica, etc. who were playing at the same
time), and the
soporific "alanismorissette" type music they were piping in. It would
have been a good place to catch a nap.
