I have a chance to buy an Adams Jim Rempe Series cue. I am told it was made
in 1977. Is there anybody that can verify whether or not the cue existed,
or is it just an early Muecci model. If you can verify it, what would you
say it's worth is? It's in excellent condition.

Thank you!!

You can call adams in New York at 800-645-2162>

If it is a meucci it should say so or be identifiable by the appearance to some
extant. I don't think an old adams would be worth all that much and when you
say it is a rempe3 cue ,is it signed by repe or have his name engraved on the
butt?

Actually there was a time when Adams was the top cue for
player endorsements, long before Meucci was a household
name. I remember seeing an Adams brochure from around
'72 that had Rempe, Cicero Murphy, and I believe 3 other
players. One may have been Mizerak. If it is an old Adam's
it definately has some value to it, but if it is a Rempe Meucci
well enough said. Adam's cue's of the early to mid 70's were
only a step below Palmer as far as quality is concerned.
The distinguishing Adam's trademark should be present if the
cue is in original condition. The griffon, or as most people refer
to the emblem, the Lowenbrau lion, should still be on the cue.
It will be on the butt plate.
Hope this helps.

Looking at the catalog right now Joe. It has Allen Hopkins in it too. The
Rempe cues from Adams will have a little caricature of Jim Rempe ('fro
included,) either standing with a cue in his hand or bending over in a shooting
position. There are 12 models in the catalog under the JR line. 6 of them are
brass joints and the other 6 are stainless steel. There is also a signature on
the forearm of each cue.

Not to change the subject but I have an Adams Jim Rempe stick and it has pearl inlays on the handle with his signature. I've had to replace the bottom piece because it cracked and broke but other than that the cue is intact. Two questions: does anyone know what it's worth? does anyone know where I can get a rubber end piece for it? Sorry I'm not too tech savvy and didn't know how to originate a question.
