Does anyone know anything about Harris Cues? Roy Mallott of Indy Q has
one and I am considering buying it.This particular cue has a
Southwest-ish look with a Uni-lock pin.I think the guy is supposed to be
in Kentucky. Any info will be appreciated.

Richard Harris has been building cues for about nine years I believe.
Most of his cues look much like Southwests, same designs, same pin and so
forth. He used to be in Kentucky and he called his cues " Bluegrass cues ",
he now lives just outside of Hillsboro, Oh. and he has no ph.#. Apparently
doesn't like to be bothered.

And he is a really good actor too. :)

All kidding aside, there is also a Harris making cues in New Haven CT. But his
cues do not look to be Southwestish in the slightest.

I have seen the cues you are asking about, and had the chance to shot with
one "once maybe twice" about a year ago, back in Cleveland. They do look
like Southwest's and they hit very well!! And lets not start an arguement on
"what I think a good hit consists of". I dont care to explain... anyways
these cues are very popular in Cleveland!!!
Dont know anything about the maker or where to find him.... sorry

I have a business card "Cues by Ted Harris" which I picked up from him a
couple of years ago while he was doing cue repairs in the Vancouver, BC
area. The business card I have gives his address as Maryland, but don't
bother to try there as the number is no longer in service.

I would also dearly love to find out where this man is, as when he was here
I gave him my custom Meucci cue (worth >$1,000 US) to refinish, and haven't
seen or heard from him since. If anyone can get a lead on him, I will very
gladly pay him a personal visit anywhere in North America.

Peter:

Ted Harris is very much alive and still in the general Wash DC metro area.
I don't have a phone number for him, but I suspect that he will be at the
Valley Forge Expo event. He usually attends and performs cue maintenance
for the players (tips, etc.).

I know several players who take their cues to Ted. I'll ask around for his
address and telephone number when I get the next opportunity.

Maybe someone will spot this post and provide the information.

Checkout this site: http://www.tedharris.com/ , I think it's probably
who you are looking for, as he is based in Maryland.

Good Luck,
