Linda Moss (rsb'r for how many years now bob?)
I would like some imput from league players around the country that have
been
involved with Tap league. It has been said to me that their handicap system
is
far better than APA as well as their scoring methods. Also does anyone have
any
input on their higherlevel tournaments.

I am not going to get into the differences on what TAP offers compared
to the APA. I have done that in the past on public forums and it just
ends up going no where. People just argue different points of view
that ends up to be a big waste of time. If you are interested in
bringing TAP to your area, please call me at 814-267-5683 or e mail me
at tap...@aol.com. You can also go the the TAP national site at
www.tapleague.com I will tell you how TAP is different and what we
have to offer compared to the other leagues.
Thanks, Sam Rullo, TAP Vice President of Sales
You may want to consider BCA league sanctioning.
It's a whole differfent thing in the sense that you are not bound by a national
"from the top down" type organization.
Instead, your players are just sanctioned with a one time $10 annual membership
by a non-profit type national body. You can taylor your events to the needs or
interests of the players.
For example, for higher level players, I am going to try a ten (week) event
singles tournament for 32 players, no handicapping, where ten players will win
a trip to the BCA singles national 8-ball tournament in May.
My point here, is not say this is better or anything. It is to sy that it is a
different approach where decisions are made from the "bottom up" so to speak.
I've been doing it for three years now. Nobody is getting rich, but our local
pool players have really enjoyed it and I've met a lot of people and our local
players get to experience an awesome event in Las Vegas. But you can do
trophies, or cash or what-ever your players are interested in. Remember,
decisions are made "at home."
Hope this info is helpful, because that's my only purpose in responding.
