Gee, that is $2,500 less than last time you tried to sell that
thing here. And you have never posted anything else here. Pawn
your JUNK elsewhere.
I'll give ya $50.00. Let me know if you get a better offer!

If he actually smoked enough Marlboro cigarettes to get the table, just
stick around. I'll bet it'll go cheap at the estate auction.

You apparently have no sense of value at all, to even waste the
server space with your rediculous offer shows what kind of person
you really are.
You obviously have never shot pool on a Brunswick, and probably
don't shoot pool on a regular basis if at all.
There were only ONE THOUSAND of these tables even made, there for
it is a collectors item. So if you are serious about making a
realistic offer for the table please do so, otherwise keep your
ignorant comments to yourself and don't waste the newsgroups space
or our time, thankyou
You must be extreamly ignorant also, and more than likely don't shoot
pool on a regular basis if at all.
First of all you lied, because you mailed me and told me that the table
went for $1,800 and that the fact that I was asking $100,000 was crazy
and you obviously didn't read my posting correctly, because I was indeed
only asking $10,000 or best offer.
Now if you had ever shot pool on a Brunswick of this style and you
would know that you don't have a clue what you are talking about, when
you say that it is only worth $2,200 dollars now either. A table of
similar style goes for $3,000 to $4,000 and those are not collectors
items.
And finally the fact that you said that it has "crap printed all over
it" shows me that you have never even seen one. The only reason for
your childlike attitude about my table that I can think of is that you
must have tried to get one and you were shot down and this is your way
of getting back at Marlboro or Brunswick, or maybe both of them.
I think all of us newsgroup users and the server would like it alot
better if you would stop wasting all of our time and space with your
ignorant remarks. And please research things a little more before you
shoot your mouth off and make yourself look like the fool you are.
If you would like to make a reasonable offer that would be fine,
otherwise leave it alone.
Thankyou
dude........chill.

I don't know about pool table values, but the idea that if only
a few of something is made, that it therefore makes it valuable doesn't
necessarily wash. For example, the California Special Mustangs are
rather few in number, but since they were essentially Mustangs with
extra trim they were never considered collector's items. (They may
be now, however.) The same may apply to pool tables. Is there something
historical about the tables other than being different?
Isn't there a blue book somewhere that tells you how much the table
is really worth?
John
Well, actually, on Feb 16, 1997 Max Gilbert, in this newsgroup, on the
subject of the installation of his own table, spoke thusly:
There were no errors. I was there, when the big truck that said
"Brunswick" arrived, while a dozen or so boxes were hauled in,
as every nut and bold was tightened. ( sure was glad it was not
my job to haul those slates!)
As for your concern about temperature changes, the table is in a
temperature controlled environment, maximum temperature delta is
about three degrees.
I think Max takes playing on his own Brunswick very, very seriously.
If you're going to start insulting people, you might try humor:
Pseudo-French: Max, you nasty person, I cast disparging glances
in your general direction.
Regional: Max, you make your neighbors in Alabama look smart.
Internet: Max, are you sure you're not a VIC-20?
If you really want to try the direct assault, look in the alt.flame
newsgroups -- lots of good material there.
As far as the table goes, so far we have Asked: $7500, Bid: $900.
You may want to contact Brad Morris at New Deco (mentioned here
recently) if you need more info about the market for such tables.
He seems to get very good prices at the auctions he runs.

Hey thanks John for replying without being an ass about it, I guess
there are very few people out here that can respond to my add without
being jerks about it. Anyhow about your question as to a blue book
on tables, that is something I will have to look into.
There was however a pool hall out in CA offering 6,500 last fall
but I have not been able to locate them, and I'm sure they more
than likely have bought all that they are going to.
Hey thanks again for being civil in reponding to my add,
Scott Rowe
How about some of the marlboro coupons from the back of the pack. I hear
if you get enough of them that you can trade them in for camping gear,
etc. etc....

Scott,
I'm not looking for a table, but I caught your
comment about looking for a "blue book" value.
Was this table once offered by Marlboro in exchange
for their "miles" coupons? If so, you might
establish a first cut at the value by comparing
the "miles" price of the table with the "miles"
price of something of known value. For example,
Marlboro offered a really neat folding bicycle
with their logo on it. I valued the bike at $150
to $200, but never got it because I don't know
enough generous smokers. By finding several items
of semi-known value, you might come up with a
reasonable miles-to-dollars conversion.
The missing factor, of course, is the added value
of the Marlboro name. Someone will have to decide
if it is a significant adder, perhaps more so on
a pool table than a bicycle.
Best regards,
Marty Jones

Miles to dollars conversion......wouldn't that make that table worth about $20,000 or so.........
