Mark0 and Hank match up

Uneventful and pathetic, that's all I can say about it. :-)
Mark0 had about an hour to kill and I was hoping for more time. But
after all, he has a job.
We went down in the dungeon. Mark0 said he liked to play banks, but I
can't bank to save my life. We agreed on 9 ball. I racked the first
practice game and I racked the second practice game, and also the
third. he won all the practice games. Which fit in with my plan. Since
the table was new to him, I wanted him to get as many shots as
possible and even win to give him a false sense of security. :-)
Since Mark0 has so little time, we decided on 2 races to 7. I didn't
think there was enough time to play 2 races, but what the hell, maybe
Mark0 can run a bunch of racks. After the first game it was obvious
that there was no way we could play 2 races to 7 in an hour. We both
shot like C- players at best. I could tell I was very rusty by missing
2 BIH's. I could also tell that Mark0 was rusty also by the shots he
was trying. He did play the first safety and maybe a couple more after
that. I think I tried to play one safety and blew that.
Knowing that I don't bank very well, Mark0 advised me to over cut the
bank and shoot hard. This advice cost him big time! I probably made
50% more banks than I ever have before using his method. Ok, half of
them were lucky and went 2 rails. :-)
I can't remember exactly who won which game, but I do know that I won
the first set 7 to 4. Since there wasn't enough time to do another
set, Mark0 suggested we play one game. I didn't understand this, but
agreed. I thought maybe he had a few more minutes. I don't remember
exactly, but I think I broke. Mark0 won that game. Was that suppose to
be the 2nd set? I don't know. The best I can figure (after the fact)
is that out of all the games we played (15), I only one 7 and Mark0
won 8. Maybe that wa his game plan. Altho I wasn't even trying on the
practice games, nor the last game.
All in all it was pathetic. We both missed easy 9 ball shots, missed
easy shots, and didn't get very good position. I know we are both
better than what showed. It appeared to me that we are pretty evenly
matched.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it! :-)

All right sounds like there is some easy $$ in Ohio. Unfortunately
since my game sucks lately I won't be the one taking it. But hey it
is nice to know somebody else misses B-I-H. LOL
It's always nice to play another RSB'er.

Hank. A consummate host and all around nice guy, we stuck to playing
"social" pool despite all the chest beating bravado of past wins and
future dominations.
Hank describes our poor play well and I believe is spot on in his
assessment of how we match up. We are probably as evenly matched as
you'll see anywhere. I think if we played regularly, it would be a case
of whoever was more in stroke at the moment winning a majority of the
games (write that down Mike Page). Studeman was able to have his way with
both of us and from the sounds of Hank's report then, I figured we play
even. We do. I'd give Hank the edge in shear accuracy (dbl shimmed 9
footer for practicing on will do that for you) and I get the edge in
banking and lucky leaves.
I thought well of Hank back in the dark ages of the RSB get together and
now fortified with the knowledge (mostly gleaned from the man-cave
decorations) that he willingly walks into burning buildings I add respect
to my list of sentiments toward him as well.
Hank, thanks for having me over. It was an all-too-brief very enjoyable
visit. I hope we get a chance to play again way sooner than last time.
You're welcome to come take advantage of the easier conditions and hammer
