THE 1977-78 CBS/NBA H.O.R.S.E. COMPETITION

The CBS/NBA H.O.R.S.E. competition was taped early
in the 1977-78 season in Atlanta with the championship
to be taped later in the season. Results were broadcast
during CBS telecasts over the course of the season with
Paul Westphal of Phoenix and Pete Maravich of New
Orleans emerging as the finalists, but a knee injury to
Maravich prevented him from participating in the
championship matchup.

H.O.R.S.E. RULES

- The player in control must describe his shot beforehand
- Two consecutive shots from the same area are not
allowed unless someone moves at least 5' away
- Trick shots are allowed, however, the same trick shot
can not be taken more than once in the contest
- A flip of the coin determines who will shoot first
- In the case of disputes, the ruling of NBA Referee
Mendy Rudolph is final
