An assist is a pass that leads to an immediate FG, or basket, in a basic
sense.
It shouldn't be awarded if the player receiving the pass doesn't make an
immediate move toward the basket or doesn't shoot the ball immediatlely
after recieving it.

there is an exception.
when a player is in the paint and receives the pass, he can fake, dribble
side to side, and then shoot and an assist will still be awarded. But
only when the player is in the paint.
