Doug McDermott puts off NBA Draft and will finsh senior year

All-America forward Doug McDermott will return to Creighton for his
senior season, he said Thursday.
McDermott made the announcement Thursday at a news conference in
Creighton's practice gym. He was joined by his father, Bluejays coach
Greg McDermott, and teammates.
"I will be returning to Creighton for my senior year and can't
wait to put on that uniform for one more season!" McDermott wrote
on Twitter.
McDermott told CBSSports.com that a perception that this year's NBA
draft class is weaker than next year's did not influence his
decision.
"[The 2014 draft] looks stronger at the top 15 to 18 picks, but
after that it's about the same," McDermott told CBSSports.com.
"But that's probably not going to be my range this year or next
year, anyway. That helped me."
McDermott was the second-leading scorer in Division I last season,
averaging 23.2 points. ESPN's Chad Ford ranks him No. 48 in his list
of top 100 prospects.
Sunday is the deadline for underclassmen to enter the draft.
The son of Creighton coach Greg McDermott led the Bluejays to a sweep
of the Missouri Valley regular-season and tournament titles in their
last year in the conference. They'll move to the Big East next season.
