The best place for Griffith to go IMHO is Georgetown. Granted, I dislike
John Thompson greatly, but he is among the best at developing big men (being
one himself).
And to the guy who said Illinois offered $80,000 and a blazer, well Deon
Thomas, and his mother took polygraph tests in which they were asked who
offered incentives to go to school. They both answered Iowa, and passed the
polygraph exam. His grandmother also took a polygraph test if I remember,
and claimed Bruce Pearl offered money to fix her house up if she could persuade
Deon to go to Iowa. Then there's the fact that while Chicago Simeon was in
Europe, Bruce Pearl just "happened" to be there and bump into Deon. And
there's more (concerning ND, Minnesota, and Reynaldo Kyles (?)), but I'll
stop there.
Sorry to ramble, but after 4 years this shit still stinks bad. Someone said
if they wanted Illinois to suffer in their recruiting, they shouldn't cut their
scholarships, just let Bruce Pearl recruit for them for the 2 years.

What U saw of Jamie Brandon last year was the inconsistent Jamie
Brandon. However, last season, he did have some great games, where
he certainly did fill it up. But like I mentioned, he was very
inconsistent during the season. This mostly had to do with the
fact that he was playing point guard -- a position, IMHO, he's not
that suited for. He'd make a wonderful off guard w/ the moves he
has. Anyways, during the season, Dale Brown was constantly tinkering
around with the lineups -- and with the logjam at guard they had
(Justin Anderson, Mike Hansen, Maurice Williamson, TJ Pugh, Paul
Marshall) -- everyone was scrapping for playing time.
Anyways -- I do think the Illini lost a lot. Brandon was a HS 1st
team all-american, and was rated the #1 off guard coming out of HS.
If Brandon were here this season, could U imagine a starting lineup
including Clemons, Brandon, Kaufmann, and Thomas? The Illini
certainly wouldn't have to struggle to put up points... But then
again, Illinois' teams have been full of "what if"s. What if
Nick Anderson had stayed for his senior season to play w/ Gill & Bardo.
What if Marcus Liberty had stayed for his senior season. What if...
