It was reported on the local news in Champaign this morning
that Rennie Clemons has been charged with aggravated battery.
He supposedly hit his girlfriend in the face with his fist.

STUPID!!!!!!! God I hope that Kiwanee Garis (sp?) can live
up to his press clippings, as it appears as though Rennie
is trying every possible way to not play next season. He has
kind of had it tough lately though, what with his father
dying and all.

Gee... you'd think the kids from Sarajevo would be a holly terror, based
on this premise. If Mr. Clemons plasters his gf's face with his fist, how
will he take Jalen's trash talking or a blown call?

Congrats to Lou Henson for recuiting another fine upstanding jerk.

That comment wasn't meant to excuse the action, it was simply a side
note to the discussion. My apologies if it appeared that way.
But to continue in you line of reasoning, are you comparing loosing
a father to trash talk or a blown call? While both events may cause
distress, I hardly think that one may cause an individual to react
in the same manner as another.

That is an interesting statement, as Rennie was recruited by a number
of institutions across the country.

Hmmmm, what exactly did the Illini do to you for you to wish
eternal damnation upon them?

Did Clemons make it through summer school? I know there was
some question about that. Also, Shelly Clark needed to pass
one last JC class. Any word?

I said Sarajevo, bom-bom. What is your reading comprehension? And since
when is losing one's father a license to smash up the face of a woman?,
let alone one's "girlfriend"? Que macho!

Eternal damnation??? Isn't living and going to school on the soy/corn/
swine plain of Urbana/Champaign punishment enough? Going to hell would be
a pleasant daytrip, I'd think...

To answer the "to you" question: just the school colors alone make me ill.
Besides, the Whining Swini Athletics is historically the least ethical
program in the Big10, or so it would seem from NCAA penalties, so why not
detest them and abhore them and root agaisnt them, thus making it a
one-stop shopping trip? It's particularly gratifying since they lose often
but can put up a fight. Need I bring up the crummy sprawling campus, too?

fairness, there is a similar building with similar clientele to that at IU
Bloomington, albeit it is way cooler architecturally).

The word is still out on Rennie passing summer school. As I said
earlier, his father passed away this summer, so he spent some
time at home. I'm not sure how many classes he missed due to this,
or how much work he may have to make up, but no official word has
been given as to his status.

Shelly Clark is signed sealed and delivered. He passed his class
and has been on campus, playing in the pickup games with the rest
of the players. I've watched a couple of games and he appears to
be more than just some thug from the JC ranks. Definitely has the
strength that we need, and appears to possess soft hands and a
decent jump shot. As long as he limits turnovers, plays tough
D, and hits the boards I'll be happy.

Clemons probably isn't an idiot, but he does a good impression.

Rennie missed the last days of summer classes due to his
father's death. He was given a time extension to complete
the work, it likely coincides with the start of the
fall classes.

Clark passed his JC math course, graduated from Indian Hills CC,
and was recently seen bowling bodies over at IMPE.

Bom-bom??? Bom-bom??? That's a good one, but I do not understand your
complaint about my clarification. I too was dissappointed at the fact
that someone would smash the face of a woman, no matter what the
circumstances. However, I was unable to understand your line of
reasoning about 'if Mr. Clemons plasters his gf's face with his fist,
how will he take Jalen's trash talking or a blown call?' By that do
you imply that he will react even worse if these situations were to
occur? You first misconstrue my comment into 'Rennie hit his girl
friend because his father died.' Then you wonder what he will do
after a blown call or trash talk. I'm certain that you have an
explanation for this.

Sure, why not, nothing else you say really makes any sense.

Might you be a slight bit anal? While I can understand someone who enjoys
flaming for the sake of flaming, checking spelling and the like seems
rather petty and child-like.

Furthermore, your comment about the library here and the one at IU is
rather interesting. Do you know where the idea/design for the IU one
came from? Yep, that was an imitation of the one here.

agreed. he should have waited to hit jalen sometime this season,

I just read last night that he has until August 26 to get
his academic house in order, given an extention due to his
father's death. As for the altercation with the woman,
who knows what Lou will do with that one? How many strikes
do you think Rennie will be given before he's out?
