Last night, McCarver made the point that a good way to tell how hard a ball
had been hit was to watch how quickly the pitcher's head jerked around. To
illustrate the point they zoomed in on David West on the home run that he
allowed. McCarver instructed us to watch West's head. Then, for the anatomy
class flunkies in the audience, they *circled* the head.
ps. How about David West in this WS? 4 BB, a single, a home run, 4 earned runs.
...and, uh, oh yeah, *zero* innings pitched.

I think that is a classic shot of Mr. West. It summarizes his career and
will be forever how I remember him.

You've seen the last of West in a Twins uniform. The Twins have been putting
up with his pitching for two years now and TK has had enough. Just when
it looks like West has figured out what to do (such as in the ALCS), he will
start walking batters and then throw a gopher ball.
I'd like to see West and Alan Anderson go to an AL team. The Twins need the
offense. :-)
