Although most people would be expecting the contrary, I too believe that
Jack Buck has an A's bias. Or at least the CBS director does. My rational
here is that if you have noticed all the previews before the games and the
highlights they show afterwards, you'll see that about 75% of these
are pro-A's - whether it be a Canseco hit (hee, hee, only 1 :-) or a catch
by Henderson. They even made a big deal of Rickey's showboating after
his homerun which still left the A's down 8-3! (how can anyone still be
cocky after being down 5 runs in the third game, with the knowledge you
are down 2-0 in the series?)
So, it seems that CBS is looking at this game as the A's losing it
instead of the Reds winning it. Does it matter that the Reds are batting
.342 and have an era of 1.98? No, only that the A's are under .250 and have
an ERA of > 4 ....
Dumb call of the series, thus far:
Buck on the misplay by the Mark Mc at first base in game three:
"That'll either be scored an error or a base hit."

why can't 700 wlw turn up their power just a little bit more so that I
can listen to them over 690 StLouis' polka station.....
