During last nights game, with runners on first and second, no outs and
0-2 count, the both runners left their bases as the pitch was delivered.
The batter took a late lazy swing at the ball, that prevented the
catcher from having a play at either base runner. The batter was called
out on strikes and both runners advanced safely.

Could this be scored as a strike out and a sacrifice? Or do you need to
hit the ball to get the benefit of a sacrifice?

This game was a Coastal Plain League, College playes using wooden bats
and MLB rules, Game.

A sacrifice would only be credited on a bunted ball into fair territory.
The "sacrifice" part involves the batter giving himself up as an out in
order to advance baserunner(s)
A "lazy swing" doesn't qualify as a bunt attempt (and he didn't make contact
anyhow). If he had hit the ball into play, and the fielders' only play was
at 1st because of the runners being in motion, it would be scored as a FC,
since the ball was "hit" and not "bunted".
The play, as described, would be a straight-up strikeout, and two stolen
bases.

... what would be interesting is if the umpire had ruled it "obstruction" by
the batter because of the lateness of the swing (clearly intended to
interfere with the catcher's ability to make a play)... in which case, I
believe the remedy would be for both baserunners to return to their original
bases.
