Is it just me, or is the new format crap?

How do they think that they can make such a huge change after so many
people have signed up. Sure, the old interface was pretty bland, but
ut had a ton of reports and features. It's all gone now.

Maybe it'll be back, but without even any promises at this point.... I
don't think this is going to turn out well....

Total crap. The old format was pretty hard to find stuff and not the
best interface, so I was hopeful of these changes, but now I've very
worried. We've already renewed.

Why do websites not get it that simple is better sometimes...

I totally agree. The "reports" section of the old format was one of
the best features of the site and now it's simply gone. I've already
e-mailed them asking what's up. Why "fix" things that aren't broken?

I just got off the phone with TQS and some of the deleted items have
been put back in. I'm still holding out for printable reports again.
Hopefully it will be back to 100% by opening day.

The guy I spoke with answered my questions directly and seemed like he
wanted to help me. A lot of the features I was calling to complain
about had already been added back in by the time I called, which was
good. When I told him how much we used the printable reports, he said
he'd pass my concerns along but couldn't guarantee anything, which was
expected.

I'd write up your questions/concerns and give them a call. You paid
for the service so if you have problems, call. Let us know how it
goes.

Good luck. I know they are removing features left and right. To do this
in March is pure stupidity.

There is no way I would stay with them at this point.

I like the interface better, but alot of features are gone. The old format
was so easy to use from a commissioners viewpoint. The new seems awkward.
I couldn't believe they left the contract years off the main roster page. I
have asked about that and am hopeful. If they had kept the old format and
just made a few tweaks, it would have been much better.

So, where did all of you guys end up?

As much as I don't like what TQ did, I am having trouble finding a
service that offers 2 things - Quality Starts + Wins as a category,
and enough room on the reserves squad. TQ allowed us unlimited
reserves, at least I never ran into a limit. Our league uses the minor
league draft and some owners are seriously committed to it, ammassing
picks and prospects in most every deal, and are currently carrying 20+
minor leaguers. as the season progresses, players will end up on the
DL requiring even more slots...

So, where did all of you guys end up?

I think I have ours set to 99 reserves. I haven't gone above that, so
I'm not sure if you can. Check your league settings is all I can
recommend.

I still haven't dug into TQ yet, mainly because I still haven't
figured out how to drop players from rosters without making them show
up as week 1 transactions, so I can't set our pre-draft rosters. Has
anyone figured this out yet?

One HUGE thing I can't find is accounting and FAAB tracking. I'm
probably going to drop them if they got rid of this. The guy I talked
to on the phone last week couldn't give me a straight answer about
whether they had it or not, so I'm not sure what the current status is
yet. Also, there is currently no way to undo transactions... You
have to re-add the player to undo a drop, for example, which would
screw up any accounting tracking big time.

We went to CBS Sportsline. I can't comment on your categories, but I don't
think they will have a problem at all with the number of reserves.

We are a typical 4X4 league and it works great. There is not a chance I
would stay with TQ, that's for sure. And I was a huge fan of theirs before
this year.

Ditto that. We are looking to move in a hurry. Currently working with CBS
Sportsline 2 week trial. If TQStats doesn't have their crap together in a
week I think we will be moving. I would be very happy if they went back to
last years' format. I feel like I've been ripped off.

Can you do retroactive stats in CBS?

This is a total disaster. Nothing is functional on TQ Stats except as
a place to post rosters. We can't do free agent bidding, nothing
except do drop/add players, which is not the way we do transactions.
And I can't get in contact with anyone there.

What the hell happened?

We've been with TQ since...well over 10 years, back when they started
up the service. We do a week to week roto scored league, have done it
since forever...and the new ownership wasn't very receptive to
renewing our league with the same format. IMHO, the new format
totally sucks, much worse than the old one, and it's incredibly
frustrating to have all these problems after years of good service.
we're checking out a number of options, including all star stats which
is more expensive but looks pretty professional. a total shame.

TQ is actually coming around. It was a lot of work entering all our
rosters and doing weekly transactions was definately more cumbersome,
but every time I call the help desk they seem to be aware of the
problems and seem to be working on them. I'm giving them a chance
because of the same reasons the above poster said they've stuck with
them for so long. There isn't anything out there that compares,
despite thier current problems.

The only fear I have is that all of our rosters get cleared from the
database during their tinkering. That's when I'll ask for my money
back...

You are brave. I have been hearing from many still on there that it's just
about unworkable. I guess they can't do retro moves until May, stats are
not working.

From what I hear (can't verify) they have set a May 4th deadline for
refunds.

It was very bad at first and our league almost left, but they have made good
progress and as far as I can tell their stats are accurate. They are adding
things all the time and it is at a point now where it is good. If it stays
as it is now, I would come back next year.

I would agree that TQ Stats has made some improvements and may
eventually achieve a tolerable level of service. But this a provider
that has provided excellent service for a long time, and it was totally
irresponsible and disrespectful of their customers to change their Web
site without ensuring that every feature previously available was
functional, that things work correctly, and that it is easy (not just
possible) to find things.

We are a traditional Rotisserie league with just a couple of tweaks from
the original format. One of these is that we limit credit for saves to
the total number of wins a team is credited with...TQ Stats informed us
that they could not support this feature! (Not being able to support
something this simple is just a sign of total incompetence or
indifference in my view.)

While the service is improving, it is just totally intolerable that they
are requiring customers to deal with this. What sort of Web-based
service provider replaces a functional site with one that DOES NOT WORK?

We will not move this season (it's not really practical to change
providers mid-season.) I have trouble imagining a scenario under which
we would return in 2008...I just hope that we haven't lost most of our
league membership by then!
