Yes, I know that no person or basebll player is or can be perfect. But
I will continue since you probably know what I mean.

When I was thinking of the perfect player, George Brett came to mind.
The more I thought about it, I was positive that a George Brett type
of player would be the ideal player. After more deep thought, I
couldn't think of a player who is presently playing who would fit this
description. This type of player is very rare.

I am not trying to praise George Brett. I am just using him as an
example of the type of player I would consider to be the ideal, or
perfect, player.

He could hit for a high average as well as for power. He would SELDOM
strikeout. In the year in which he hit .390 he only struckout 22 times
the entire season.

He would drive in a lot of runs. In addition he was great at getting
the type of hit needed in the situation - whether it was a sacrifice
fly, single, double, triple or hume run.

I should add, as you know, that he played his entire career with one
team. But, that isn't part of the qualities I am looking for.

I can't come up with an active player with ALL of these qualities.
Since this might be partially subjective, it is possible that someone
might have a different opinion than I do. I could think of players
with some of these qualities, but not all of them. Here are all of the
qualities again:

1. Hit for a high average
2. Rarely strickout
3. Hit for power
4. Get the type of hit needed in the situation
5. Drive in lots of runs

Perhaps it is someone so obvious that I just didn't think of him. Can
anyone think of any active player or players with ALL five of these
qualities?
