Hi

I am looking into purchasing a compound bow and was on the web
and saw a site for XI archery products. The deals were good, but
I have not heard about this brand before, could someone please
tell me if they have used this brand of bow before?

Thanks in advance

XI is the brand of Miles Keller (sp?).
It is a good and old-honorably brand. :-)

Jessica, I don't know much about Xi, except that they only deal online and
they got good reviews from the Peterson's staff in the latest edition of
Peterson's Bowhunting. Hope that is a little helpful.

Mmm, I think it's a "was." They are Internet sales only. No Pro shops, no
sales staff, no warranty reps, just wheelbows.

I'm not sure what Miles Kellar is doing now.

Mile Keller now shoots a High Country bow.

XI as a company resurfaced a couple of years ago. They had been a quality
manufacture of bows in the 80s and early 90s. Then file bankruptcy and was
later bought by a new company.

That company sells direct (ie mail order) now. I have seen their adds and
their prices look good and their product looks promising. I have heard they
sell good at a great price (not great stuff at good prices).

If I was looking to get a well built bow and had to watch my money I would
look at XI, Buck, and some of the less expensive High Country Stuff.

One minor word of caution. While the companys listed make very good stuff
you will not impress your friends. If theirs ohs and ahs are desired go by
a Matthews bow (for BIG $s).

The riser looks alot like some of the older PSE risers, and at one time it
looked like they were using the MAXIS HL cam.( I think that was last year).
The bows look good and the review holds promise for the bow. If you order
the bow, besure to state your correct amo drawlength.( if out how they
measure their DL's ie amo or truedraw.) and enjoy your new bow.

To all those who sent me information and posted information here,
thank you. It appears that I shall be taking XI off my
consideration list.

Okay, so what's up? I'm not slammin ya', just want to keep you from closing
your mind on Xi bows. I picked up a used Xi Paragon from my buddy who ended
up not liking archery all that much. It was a gift at $200.(with case,
target, & arrows) The bow is good, it's shot fine since the day it was
given to me. I've shot easton xx75 2512 w/125 grain match points. Just
recently I switched to redhead 350 carbons & 100 grain match points &
broadheads. All this time my groupings have been good w/a 65# draw, 65%
letoff; 2"@10yd, 5"@20yd, 7"@30yd, & 10"@40yd. Not bad for only shooting 4
months. The only real problem has been my peepsight shifting. Noise has
been manageable. It has proved to be not much louder or just as quiet as
other bows I've had the opportunity to shoot or been near to see shot. More
than that, I'm comfortable with this bow.

Yes, I want to pick up a bigger $ bow but there's another consideration.
Like these guys are saying, if you want to go new and spend boku bucks, then
this isn't your bow. Me, I just got into this and I'm dropping bucks like
crazy getting ready for hunting.( Just spent $350 on a tree lounge) I
haven't even finished getting all I'll need let alone the things I want to
get. Maybe that's a consideration, that is if you're going to hunt with it.

So I guess I'm pro Xi. Don't sell them short, so far my bow has been pretty
good.

Alex

I hope they've quieted Tree Lounge's down since I bought mine. However, it
will teach you to be quiet in the woods. So quiet, you'll be napping
(sleeping) in no time at all!

As a archery owner I have seen several of the new XI bows, the bows seem to
be a great bow at a very reasonable cost. I still make about the same as
befor, without having to caryy inventory of the XI line, as if you buy
direct, I still get $30 to set up the bow for a customer and that was just
about the amount I made when carrying the line in my shop....
