CUSHING -- The names of the victims of Saturday's small plane crash near the
Cushing Regional Airport Saturday night have been released.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol identified the pilot of the 1965 Cessna 182 as
Steven Hill, 37, of Burbank, Calif. Hill died in the crash that happened
shortly before 5 p.m. Saturday about two miles southeast of the airport.
The patrol identified the two passengers injured in the crash as Glenn
Miller, 59, of Noble, and Shelly York. Miller was taken to Cushing Hospital
in serious condition with fractured legs. York was take to OU Medical Center
in Oklahoma City in critical injuries with head injuries, Troopers said.
Authorities said they believed the passengers to be first-time skydivers. A
third passenger, they said, parachuted to safety before the crash.
The plane was operated by the Oklahoma Skydiving Center, based at the
Cushing Regional Airport.
The cause of the crash is being investigated by the Federal Aviation
Administration, said Roland Herwig. The National Transportation Safety Board
was also notified.
According to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report, the plane must have stalled
and went into a spin and crashed.
