University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign
Falling Illini (Skydiving Club)

Our DZ is Archway Skydiving Centre.

If you need more info than that, feel free to e-mail me.

Gerard.

PS Indiana University and Illinois State University might have
skydiving clubs also, since students going there get students discounts
at Archway.

I am planning on putting together a complete list (and WWW links where
applicable) of all colleges/universities with Skydiving/Parachuting Clubs
in the United States and eventually in the world.

Has this already been done somewhere? If so, I'd rather not reinvent the
wheel. I have seen lists, but nothing that is remotely complete.

In doing this, I am hoping that many of you out there can help me. Email

Indiana University-Bloomington is just getting a club off the ground. I
seem to be the only experienced jumper on campus, but I'll be at
collegiates nonetheless. What does BSU stand for?

We're not a fully organized club, but we exist mainly to increase
awareness of the sport and to get friends to come out with us. We have
about 3 - 4 licensed member, I'll be another soon. If you need more
info, E-mail me and I'll put you in contact with our president.

The Georgia Tech Sport Parachute Club has been around since the early
60's. I believe it's the oldest in the nation.

As an FYI: One of our jumpers just happens to also play our mascot
BUZZ. BUZZ, myself, five Ga. Tech alums, and a photographer are
jumping into the Georgia Tech Homecoming Game on October 26th.
Bringing in the game ball, etc...

We have the St. Cloud State University Skydiving Club here in Minnesota.
Our URL is http://www.stcloud.msus.edu/~skydive

Miles Hubbard is our faculty advisor, I'm sure someone out here must
know him from US Nationals, etc...

The University of Waterloo in Waterloo, Ontario, has a small, rather
low-key skydiving club as well, focused primarily on first-time
jumpers. So far as I know, there's only one other licensed skydiver
here other than myself (sniff).

I know that Clemson has a skydiving club that has been around for a while.
I am planning on getting a club started this year at the University of
Georgia. Right now I am doing the paper work to get it going. I can get
you the number of the Clemson club if you need it.

Georgia Tech has a well established skydiving club that operates out of
Peach State Skydiving in Covington, GA currently. We have a good
relationship with the school, receive an annual budget from the Student
Government, and have been chartered on campus since 1969. If you are
trying to start a club at a university, I could put you in touch with the
current GT club president for advice.
