Deaf World Record Attempts

the largest all-deaf freefall formation, will be held at Skydive San Marcos,
Texas, on Labor Day weekend!
The existing Deaf World Record is a 7 way by 6 Australians and 1 New Zealander
several years ago in Australia. The Deaf American Record is a 5 way set at
Skydive Suffolk, Virginia, in October 1999.
Just 5 years ago, there were only 6 known deaf skydivers jumping at the time in
the USA. Now there are close to 20, and the number has been rising rapidly in
just the past year or so. 5 years ago, there were none in England or Japan. Now
there are 5 in England and 4 in Japan.
This new gathering on Labor Day weekend at Skydive San Marcos will be the
largest ever in history. Marc Rubin, a deaf skydiver whose home DZ is San
Marcos, is coordinating the event with the DZO and DZM, Phil and Deb Chappel.
Deaf skydivers John Woo and myself will organize the dives. We have at least 10
Deaf skydivers committed and are working to recruit a few more.
We are all looking forward to getting together to set a new world record.

Sorry that I could not be of more assistance than sending you through the
APF , although
I KNOW PERSONALLY that being deaf or hearing impaired has never come across
to us as being a
disability at ALL IN SKYDIVING LOL!! Not like hollywood , anyone ever make
dock / grip changes by word of mouth?? LOL!!!
Fly free and show the world what you have !!!
(Shame it isn't in Australia though cause that is where I am
from..........oh well , if you feel like saying hi please do so..........and
just think of the exchange rate! LOL!)
Mmmmm - USA vs AUSSIE dollar and the amount of jumps you could do here!!
PS - We jump ALL YEAR ROUND HERE as in SOME states of OZ we NEVER see
SNOW!!!!
