I have an A&P looking for the STC to put an inflight jump door on a C182.
Does anyone have any info I can send him?

You need to post what model - C-182_ . It will make a difference.

Just did some more checking. That door I mentioned (Skymotive) is
approved on the following airplanes:

Cessna 172, 172A thru C
Cessna 175, 175A thru C
Cessna 182 182A thru F

I've got a 182 with this STC for a jump door:

Skymotive STC SA462 WE/SA462 WH.
Model 62-500
Skymotive Inc. RR 1 Box 32
Snohomish, WA

The door is very light (17 lbs) and has a window in the lower portion also
which is nice for spotting when it's cold. (I'm in Alaska)

I really don't think it makes any difference what model 182 you have, they
all have the same size door.

To enhance what Mike wrote - a friend of ours is stuck with a 182, complete
with in-flight door, that the local FSDO is telling him is only usable by 3
jumpers plus pilot. Tandem JM's like it, but the operator ain't so happy - -

Tell him to contact USPA. They have info on the STC for hauling 4 plus
the pilot.

You don't need the stc if you can build your own door. Most inflight
doors are approved on a onetime field approval.

Actually, if its a 1956 model, its max gross weight is 2550 lbs,
((later models went to 2650 lbs and up).

I haven't ever been able to get 4 jumpers and a pilot, plus rigs, plus
fuel in a 56 model and be under 2550 lbs, even with the plane stripped
bare..

Yeah, it's tuff to do. I've got a '57 with a 2650 gross. I have a 1040
lb useful and carry minimum fuel. My STC actually limits me to 20 gallons
max when carrying 5 souls.
